    Fall Sports Clearance & Physicals - Monday, July 29

    Is your student interested in playing a Fall Sport? If so, start your clearance forms now! Forms are available here. We will hold sports physicals on campus in the Sports Med classroom on Monday, July 29 at 2pm. $35 cash only. 

     

    Fall ASPIRE Programs

    We receive a grant that allows us to offer a wide variety of before-and-after-school clubs called ASPIRE programs. Our ASPIRE programs are inclusive and comprehensive of so many areas of interest and, because of the grant we are given, we are able to purchase special supplies and pay the instructors.     Scottie Pride Day Freshmen Orientation - Thursday, August 1st from 8:00am - 12:30pm

    We hope all new freshmen will join us for this fun and informative orientation! We will cover important information about the first day of school and explain where things are located on campus. Students will get a chance to meet each other and do fun team-building activities. Pizza lunch will be served. This event is for students only - no parents or siblings please. They can be dropped off at the front of school in the large solar parking lot and will meet in the gym. 

     

    Chromebook Distribution Day for New Students - Saturday, August 3rd from 9:00am - 3:30pm

    We will be passing out Chromebooks and taking time to get students set up on the campus wireless network and logged into their Helix Google accounts on Saturday, August 3 in the Helix Library. Click here for the schedule.

     

    First Days of '24-'25 School Year, "Welcome Back Days" - Thursday, August 8 & Friday, August 9

    School starts on Thursday, August 8 at 8:30am. Here is the 2024-2025 School Calendar & A/B Day Schedule and 2024-2025 Bell Schedule. All students should review their schedules on or before the first day of school for any changes that may have occurred. Students can view their schedules electronically in StudentVUE. This instructional video shows them how to navigate to their schedules from our website. New students will get set up to use StudentVue during Chromebook distribution day on Saturday, August 3.     We have some exciting activities planned for the first two days of school. These "Welcome Back Days" will have a shortened bell schedule (click here for details), with the last two hours of each day dedicated to fun activities for everyone. Our focus will be on connecting students with staff and peers, building a strong community and culture, reigniting school spirit, and ensuring all students feel welcome and safe. Students may leave after 4th period if they choose, but we encourage them to stay and join in the fun! We will send out a schedule of all the events before school starts. 

     

    Tech Info Night - Thursday, August 15 at 6pm

    Join us for an info night all about the different systems we use at Helix to keep track of grades, assignments, communication etc. Brian Kick, Chief Information Officer, and Dianne Damschen, Ed Tech TOSA, will walk you through the different platforms, how to log in and stay connected. This event will be held in the 1600 Building (ExL) from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Registration is not required. Your students are welcome to join you, snacks and refreshments provided.

     

    Back to School Night - Thursday, August 22 at 5:30pm

    We invite you to visit the first term classes of your student on Thursday, August 22 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. This is your opportunity to meet your student’s new teachers and to acquaint yourselves with the instructional programs. Your presence will also provide you with the tools to help your students be successful in their classes. 

     

    Picture Make-Up Day - Monday, August 26

    Students who did not get their picture taken during summer registration, or would like to retake their picture, should visit the gym on Monday, August 26. Freshmen can go during Helix First or ExL and 10th-12th graders will be sent throughout the day based on their last names. 

     

    Parent Shadow Day - Thursday, August 29 at 8:30am

    All Helix parents and guardians are invited to attend Parent/Guardian Shadow Day on Thursday, August 29 from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to observe your student’s classrooms and school environment. This is not a day for teacher conferences, those can be scheduled individually.
