E-bikes are powerful, fast, and often misunderstood. Many riders and parents don’t realize that different e-bike classes come with different laws, age limits, and safety requirements. This class breaks down what’s legal, what’s safe, and what every family needs to know to prevent crashes and protect young riders. We’ll also cover what drivers need to know, including safe passing laws and how to share the road with e-bike riders, to help keep everyone safer on our streets.

Presented by La Mesa Police Department & The San Diego County Bike Coalition on Thurs, Feb 19 from 6:00 – 7:00pm.

This event will be held in ExL at 6pm. Students are welcome to attend with parents/guardians. Registration not required, just show up! We'll have snacks. For translation services, click here.

If you plan to enroll a new student for the upcoming school year, you must submit an application between January 5, 2026, and March 1, 2026. As a charter school, Helix does not automatically enroll students, and an application must be submitted by March 1 to secure a spot for your incoming student. No action needed for currently enrolled 9th-11th grade Helix students. Online Enrollment will be completed after Spring Break for current students.

School will be closed in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday and Presidents’ Day from Friday, February 13 through Monday, February 16. Students will return on Tuesday, February 17.
