Helix Charter High School Governing Board
The Charter Governing Board, consisting of parents, staff, and community members, is empowered to make school wide policy decisions. School wide policy includes, but is not limited to: graduation requirements, admission standards, attendance policies, school calendar, general and fiscal oversight, and annual budget approval. Moreover, the Helix Charter Governing Board is also responsible for appointing, evaluating, compensating and, when necessary, replacing the Executive Director.

Meeting Information and Location:
The Helix Charter Board generally meets the third Monday of each month unless otherwise indicated. Scheduled public meeting times are from 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the Library, located in the 300 building on campus. Agendas are posted and available in the Helix Charter High School Executive Director's Office. Members of the public who wish to address the Charter Board for items on the agenda, or not on the agenda, will complete a speaker card at the beginning of the meeting, and give to the board secretary. *unless otherwise noted on the agenda

Charter Reauthorization Petition
Charter School Renewal Terms
California Education Code (EC) Section 47607.4, which was amended by Senate Bill 114 [Chapter 48, Statutes of 2023], provides the following regarding charter school renewal terms:
Notwithstanding the renewal process and criteria established in Sections 47605.9, 47607, and 47607.2 or any other law, effective July 1, 2021, all charter schools whose term expires on or between January 1, 2022, and June 30, 2025, inclusive, shall have their term extended by two years, and all charter schools whose term expires on or between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2027, inclusive, shall have their term extended by one additional year.
