The Project/ Portfolio
Students will create a portfolio through the
Advisory class to document their work on the project. The project is
evaluated through the portfolio which will contain items such as the
evaluation by the project consultant, a written overview of the project,
the original project proposal, the research paper, the project self-evaluation
form, photos/video of progress on the project, and any appropriate drawings,
graphs or charts. (All writing must follow Helix Style Manual guidelines.)
All students will submit their completed project/portfolio during
CAT-6 Testing during Term 2.
The Senior Project Defense
The final phase of the Senior Project Portfolio is the Senior Project
Defense. This new component will take place during school wide CAT-6
Testing. During Senior Project Defense students will meet with members
of the Senior Project Defense Panel to present their completed portfolios
and discuss their completed projects. These panels will be responsible
for scoring the final portfolio/project. The Senior Project Defense
is an opportunity to informally discuss the students’ project/portfolio
and to answer any questions prior to grading that may not have been
addressed in the portfolio.
