Students
may write on any topic related to their project: from the relationship
between jazz and classical music, to innovative medical procedures, from
the painting of Renoir to interior design techniques, from robotics to
the innovations in automotive design, from scholarship funding to choreography. The paper is a research paper, not a report about the student's project. The paper must be at least seven pages, onto the eighth page, typed or word-processed, and documented according to the MLA (Modern Language Association) format. Students must use a minimum of eight sources. Both primary (personal interview) and secondary (books, magazines, newspapers) sources will be required. The process of writing the paper will be taught and monitored in the English class. Students must complete the process--note taking, outlining, drafting, revising and editing--as well as the final draft, meeting all assigned deadlines. |
