Entrance into Helix Charter High School

If you do not legally live within the boundaries set forth by the Grossmont Union High School District, the District in which Helix belongs, Helix’s “lottery” system is the only way for entrance to Helix.

If you are interested in entering Helix through the lottery, then you must attend one of the two lottery meetings held Wednesday, April 16, or Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 6 p.m.

At the meeting you will hear what Helix has to offer your student(s) and what will be expected of your student(s). If you are still interested in attending, you will complete a questionnaire card. After the meetings the cards will be separated by grade level and randomly selected assigning them a number of one through however many cards we have. This will be your number on the lottery waiting list. Summer Registration typically starts the second week in June and when there are openings #1 on the list is called and we work our way through the list, until the school reaches our target enrollment at each grade level.
