Message from the PTSA President
Greetings Highlanders!
On behalf of the Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA), I would like to extend an enthusiastic welcome to our incoming and continuing Helix families! Helix continues a proud tradition of providing an outstanding learning environment for our diverse student population, as was evidently shown in a 2008 US World News report. We are blessed with remarkable leadership and commitment from Helix’s Executive Director, grade level principals, staff, teachers and parents/guardians. In the past year, we have accomplished a lot and made Helix an even better institution for you and our students to be proud to call “your school.” However, to continue and maintain Helix Charter HS as an illustrious and innovating institution, we will need your help and involvement. How? For as little as $10.00 per person, you and your student can join PTSA. Your level of involvement is up to you. But know that you will have an easy way to stay informed about what’s happening on campus and you can be a part of what’s happening! High school is exciting, and sometimes challenging for the whole family. Fortunately, there are many resources for you to rely on, such as PTSA…and we are here to provide one of those foundations for you and your family. We will keep you informed of the key activities/events at school, plus add some fun along the way! Please mark your calendar and join us for our first Association meeting on Wednesday, August 13 at 6 pm in Gym. I am again honored to serve as your 2008-09 PTSA President and I ask that you please feel free to contact me if you have any ideas to share, or if you have any questions/concerns that PTSA could help with.
